The Jiva cold-pressed juice is made with organic cold brewed coffee, organic vanilla bean, organic raw almonds, organic dates, organic nutmeg, and filtered water. Our ingredients are locally sourced and the final juice is raw and unpasteurized. This also means that we do not use the HPP method.
COLD BREWED COFFEE
We use Equal Exchange fair trade organic coffee, and grind the beans right before we make the cold brew! The cold brew process extracts the coffee beans’ true flavor and gets rid of much of the acidity. This produces a bold, super-smooth coffee concentrate. While we don’t recommend drinking caffeine during a juice cleanse, you can still enjoy this as an alternative to processed sugar-packed coffee drinks.
Raw vanilla beans contain traces of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, manganese, iron and zinc.
The word “Vanilla” comes from the Spanish word “vaina” meaning little pod. Vanilla is an orchid primarily from the Mexican species flat-leaved vanilla. A boy named Edmond Albius, a slave to the French, at the age of 12 discovered vanilla could be hand pollinated which resulted in the global cultivation of the plant. Madagascar and Indonesia produce two thirds of the world’s supply of vanilla.
We use Organic California Almonds and filtered water to make this delicious almond mylk in house. We cold press them raw for the smoothest mylk possible! Almonds can lower your risk of heart disease as well as other cardiovascular ailments. They are a great source of fats essential to heart health. Additionally, almonds are known to lower cholesterol when eaten as a substitute for other proteins. Not to mention, they are a great source of Vitamin E!
Dates add natural sweetness to the Jiva. They contain simple sugars in the form of fructose, making them an easily digestible sweetener. As a result, dates are great for those with an intolerance towards processed sugars. In addition to being an anti-inflammatory, they also contain vitamin A, iron, potassium, and fiber.
Nutmeg keeps the brain sharp! It contains a natural compound called myristicin, which shields your brain from degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. It also contains trace minerals that strengthen the immune system. Potassium, calcium, iron, and manganese are among key minerals in nutmeg.
