Hazelnuts have a great nutrient profile. Loaded with healthy fats, vitamin B6, folate, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Hazelnuts are packed full of antioxidants. As a result they can protect the body from oxidative stress, which can damage cell structure and promote aging, cancer and heart disease. Hazelnuts have been linked to reduced inflammation, thanks to their high concentrations of healthy fats. These hazelnuts also make this our nut milk highest in protein! The high levels of protein make this hazelnut milk a good option for a meal replacement or a great addition to one of our cleanses.
So, what is the difference between cacao and cocoa? Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing un-roasted cacao beans. This process retains the living enzymes in the beans and removes the fat (cocoa butter). Cacao beans contain antioxidants that promote general health and protect against disease. Among other things, raw cacao is a natural energy booster. Because it contains theobromine, which is similar in structure to caffeine, cacao is a great source of energy. Cacao can protect nerves from injury and inflammation. It also helps give the Bala its’ delicious flavor!
This nut milk is chocolatey with strong hints of hazelnut. Often compared to a chocolate milkshake with a healthy twist. This hazelnut milk is similar to our Chocolate Smoothie but is less thick and has a slightly different ingredient list, most notably using the hazelnuts instead of pecans.
